Went to see the sub doc and they said that they don't take my insurance and gave me one month but I refused it. I was mad and made up my mind I wasn't going to be a slave of this drug. So now here I am detoxing from 16 mg of suboxone.

Can anyone help me with what I'm going thru.?

A Good Start

Dear Sonicwhite,I see your peril and asked a buddy of mine who was put on Suboxone  for reasons we can not go into here and he said he will not be a slave same as you.He wants off but he is weak, sure hope he does not read that! But he is on way less but started high like you.I for life of me cant understand why they start so high,or yes I do Money.Money is why because his innsurence was paying, then cutoff,so he works a 40 hour week to pay for suboxone(his food and lodeging is taken care of  by state still) If you search online you see it says the same as Ralph(no,not his name?)Ralph is cutting back not telling his doctor and I see you want to save your pride! I say good for you,but by now you can judge if this can be done, only you.So even as Goats sugestion seems COLD man Cold,it might be the only safe way.You will allways read of a "hero"online who just plain stops, but in the real world where I now reside it may or may not be done.I hope you read this and know at least two people or three care,Me,Goat and YOU! Peace and stay alive!!! RD

I don't see anything remotely

I don't see anything remotely "cold" about Goats post whatsoever. Urgent advice was needed, Goat directed him to the absolute best place to turn because Suboxone is a different type of drug, and vastly misunderstood. We could all offer up conjecture and Google University opinions, but none of it would help at that time. Now that time has passed, I will quickly relay my experience of coming off of Suboxone.

What I experienced was a much lesser degree of withdrawal, but for what seemed to be an inordinate amount of time. Whereas with other opioids, you'll have the general malaise and just generally ill-feeling, I didn't get that with Suboxone. Instead, I developed a very low grade, "poor me" type of depression, where I just didn't want to do anything. My primary Dr. attempted to help by rxing Nucynta, followed by Norco, while he searched for a new pain doc for me. These meds, at that time, did nothing for my pain, and made me more angry than anything else. I hate the constant ups and downs of traditional opioids, and I've dealt with it now for 3 dang years.

I really wish the op wouldnt have turned the script away blindly, and especially out of pride, but we all have reasons for doing the things we do. So, just giving my non-medical opinion based solely on personal experience, I would say that the wd from Suboxone is definitely manageable, but really should be done under doctor care. The GI issues didn't seem to be prevelent from what I recall. I was just really "down" for a much longer period of time than I would have been from something like Norco, but to a lesser degree.

Anyway, I know this is late, but it's late for a reason.

Mainly kidding!

Dear GTR player,I was KIDDING about Goats sugestian being "COLD"  I guess  your a tad more serious than me.  I only have good intentions when it comes to fellow pain patients! Going to a county mental health center seems like a passable plan, however I think Sonic would benafit more from say what you just wrote.Again,I was kidding about Goats sugestian. I even tell Sonicwhite that theres 3 people who care about him and Goats in that 3!  I try and only post here when I am chilled out.....Cool Peace,RD

Re.

I have been very busy traveling and and not had much time for pharmer but I've followed all of Sonic's posts over the years.
Many people often take my short direct posts a bit wrong on the internet. Talking with a real person who has experience with the problem IMO is always the best idea..playing Dr with your own problems can get a person into serious problems...no offense taken

re:

good for you sonic.  I went off pain meds last year for about 2 months to check my pain levels.  take it easy if you restart treatment.

Never again am I doing benzos

Never again am I doing benzos or opiates. I steer away from benzos because their so dangerous and cause seizures. Opiates just make me want to do more. I’m not shunning either because use properly that are a good tool.
