I have been sick for the last week(still sick) and when I reread the post I could not understand why I wrote NPO when it was in the op. BTW I thought Goat was the op in this thread. I knew I didn't know the latin translation for NPO. Take care, htmom
Thank you guys. PT I should have put, I use it all the time. Funny how you can forget things you use so often. Thanks, Im udating with list, with credit ofcourse.
I know, the list is designed to help newbies for the most part and I dont want to confuse them with drug compounds. When we use APAP in short, we mean tylenol. I thought I had NSAID on there already, thanks.
I may have missed it, but SAD is also Seasonal Affective Disorder, for those of us for whom darkness and cold can bring on severe depression. We need light, warmth, and the constant reassurance that winter will stop getting darker on Dec 21st - the winter solstice. The days start getting longer, and I start getting happier.
I just want to tell all of you that have this disorder that there are little things that are free that you can do to negate it. Turn on all the lights BEFORE it gets dark. Get more lights if you need to. Keep the house warm enough that you get the feeling of 'home'. Make the house smell good with something you have cooked. (Preferably not involving boiled cauliflower). For these few horrible months, just do whatever you can to make your place a home.
I have it so bad that sometimes I can't even be in a different room than my husband, Q. I feel so desolate, and alone. And to help me, he will come into the livingroom to read because it is closer to my study, where I write these hopeful words.
Just start counting down til the solstice, and you will start getting happier and happier. And your pain will lessen.
Thanks A5, excellent addition. I don't have full blown SAD but I sure do hate dark and gloomy days, especially when the time changes and the days are shorter. Sometimes it is nice to sit in front of a fire on a rainy day with a cup of hot chocolate in a nice toasty cozy room with my girl, but other than that a gloomy day does seem to bring me down. Early mornings can be bad too! I would have to say that getting up early in the morning when there is barely any light out makes me feel more isolated than night time.

You will see two a lot if you change your meds every few weeks like me, lol.

PT is more commonly referred to as physical therapy.

Mrbrandman, APAP actually stands for "N-Acetyl-Para-Amino-Phenol" (acetaminophen).
You might want to include NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug).

You are correct cats meow PT does indicate Physical Therapy however P/T indicates Patient.

Dang, that was some kind of list. Glad to hear you didn't have to sit there and write out the whole thing.
It, and the other one, are really helpful.
Thank you.
